The sound of this drum really is incredible. The bass tone is powerful and punchy, with no need for extra kick ports to enhance the bass. It fills the room in a controlled and rounded way. You can achieve two main snare hits on the CaSela, one is full and has a great depth, the other gives you a nice pop on the high end. The playing surface is very high quality, sturdy, and allows you to achieve many other tones when using your foot to change the pitch. The materials used for the components are of very high quality. The side, top and bottom panles are made from high-grade birch and the rounded corners are made from, high-grade maple.
Maximum comfort and optimal sound production
The extra-strong body guarantees an optimal sound production. Rounded corners and the Sela Thin Splash veneered playing surface provide a relaxed and enjoyable playing feeling. There are three veneer models available: Satin Nut, Tineo and Zebrano. Due to the construction, subsequent replacement of the playing surface is possible.
Removable Sela Snare System and special clap corners
The sound of the Sela Snare System can be attenuated or amplified according to your taste. Additionally you can remove the snare easily. Through that your CaSela turns into a traditional Peruvian cajon without a snare. The cajon has individually adjustable clap corners, in addition to the crisp snare sound and the differentiated bass.

This is one solid cajon! As the second cajon I've purchased, I've been completely amazed by the consistency and responsiveness of the snare, mid and bass tones of my new CaSela Pro | Satin Nut. Comparitively speaking, I spent half the amount on my first cajon and got half the quality of sound!
I'm happy to report Paul Jennings was very helpful in assisting me during the selection process via email. I explained I wanted a tight snare with a decent low bass tone. His direction was spot on!

After playing many different models from many different makers and not finding exactly what I wanted, I decided to try CaSela. When I called I was able to talk to Paul which was a huge help. He he suggested the Satin Nut for my needs, and then described it in detail. I got my order in a very short time, and from the minute I took it out of the box I fell in love with it! Paul's description was right on. I could tell immediately it is a high quality instrument that is not only beautiful, but made with quality materials and construction.
With the snares out this cajon has a great Peruvian sound. With the snares in, and the range of adjustment for them, you can get sounds anywhere from a "loose" wire sound to a very tight punchy snare sound. The bass sound is deep and focused, and easy to achieve no matter how the snares are adjusted. I got an extra snare head for use with brushes, and it's gives even more variety of sounds. Most importantly for me no matter how I use the snares the separation of the bass and snare is always there. It's better than any other cajon I've heard.
I would highly recommend this cajon for nearly any situation. I would also recommend Paul Jennings Music because the help and service they give is amazing! Thanks guys!

This is a very good cajon. The quality shows in its build and the sound is the best I have heard in a cajon. As Paul said the bass and snare separation is amazing.
Paul's customer service was amazing. He got back to be right away and answered all of my questions.
Very very happy with this cajon.
