Q: Are all Sela cajons kits?

A: No, Sela make both kit cajons and pre-built models. The CaSela Professional Snare Cajon comes as either a kit or a pre-built drum. The CaSela Pro and Varios only come as pre-built models. The Snare Cajon Kit and the Sela Snare Cajon are the same cajon, one as kit and one as pre-built.

Q: What are the main differences between the CaSela Professional Snare cajon finishes?

A: There are three different types of front (tapa) that you can choose from. Satin Nut, Tineo and, Zebrano. The Satin Nut offers the deepest bass tone, the Zebrano is slightly higher in pitch and the Tineo offers the highest pitch of bass tone. The sound differences are small and choice usually comes down to what kind of look you like.

The snare sound is the same on all three front plates.

Q: Can you guys pick out a specific wood grain for me?

A: Unfortunately we are not able to pick out different wood grains for customers. The main reason for this is that our warehouse is not setup to do so. We could not do this for everyone so we have chosen not to do it.

Each cajon will have a slightly different look as wood grain is never the same. This makes every instrument unique.

Q: What is the difference between the CaSela Pro and the CaSela Professional Snare Cajon?

A: The CaSela Pro features the Sela On/Off Snare Mechanism allowing the player to switch the snare on and off with a switch located on the side. The CaSela Professional Snare Cajon features the Sela Removable Snare System allowing the player to manually remove the snare through the sound hole at the back.

The CaSela Pro comes in the same finish choses as the CaSela Professional Snare Cajon.
